🫙 The Pantry

Privacy Policy

Effective July 17, 2026 · thepantry.app

The Pantry is a kitchen-management app built by a family, for families. The short version: your kitchen data belongs to you, we don't sell it, and we collect only what the app needs to work.

What we collect

Receipt and barcode scans

What we don't do

Sharing within the app

If you invite family members to your kitchen, they can see the shared inventory, meal plan, and grocery list. If you choose to share a recipe with the community, it becomes visible to other users under your display name. Both are your choice, always.

Data retention and deletion

Your data stays for as long as you have an account. To delete your account and its data, email us at the address below and we will remove it. Encrypted backups age out on a rolling schedule.

Security

Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS everywhere. Passwords are stored hashed (bcrypt). Servers are firewalled, patched automatically, and monitored.

Children

The Pantry is a general-audience household tool and is not directed at children under 13. Accounts are created by adults in the household.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will note it here with a new effective date.
