Chicken and Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 box (32 oz) chicken broth
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 can homestyle or Southern-style refrigerated biscuits
- Shredded cooked chicken
- Paprika, to taste
- Onion powder, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Flour, for rolling out the biscuits
Steps
- Remove the biscuit dough from the refrigerator and let it sit on the counter to come to room temperature.
- Pour the entire box of chicken broth into a Dutch oven.
- Add the cream of chicken soup and stir until combined.
- Season the broth with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- Begin heating the mixture on the stove.
- Lightly flour a clean work surface.
- Separate the biscuits and roll each biscuit out flat.
- Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the rolled-out biscuit dough into small squares to make the dumplings.
- Add the dumplings to the broth mixture, then add the shredded chicken.
- Bring everything to a boil and cook, stirring occasionally so the dumplings do not stick together or to the bottom of the pot.
- Continue cooking until the dumplings are completely cooked through.
- Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed.
- Serve hot.
