Terms of Service

Effective September 29, 2026 · thepantry.app

The Pantry is operated by Univirtus LLC, a Mississippi limited liability company ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using The Pantry on the web or in our apps, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Your account

What you add and share

Everything you put into The Pantry stays yours: your inventory, lists, notes, photos, and the recipes you write or bring in. You give us permission to store it, process it, and show it back to you and to the people in your kitchen so the app can work. When you share a recipe with the community, you also give us permission to show it to other members and on its public recipe page, until you stop sharing it.

You promise that you have the right to add and share what you put in the app, and that it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights. In particular:

Recipes and information in the app

The recipe library, nutrition figures, best-by dates, and food details in The Pantry are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. They come from a mix of licensed sources, public databases, and automated reading, and they can be wrong. Recipes, nutrition information, and food-safety or expiration estimates are general information, not medical, dietary, or food-safety advice. Always check ingredients and labels yourself, especially when cooking for allergies or a medical diet, and use your own judgment about whether food is safe to eat.

Automated features

Receipt reading, recipe importing, shelf photos, and similar features are done automatically and can make mistakes. Look over what they add before you rely on it.

Things you can't do

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

Paid plans

Some features need a paid plan. Plans renew automatically until you cancel, and you keep what you paid for until the end of the period. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, their terms govern your billing, cancellation, and refunds. We may change plans or prices going forward, and we will tell you before a change affects your renewal.

Copyright complaints

We respect creators' work and respond to notices of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you believe something in The Pantry infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated copyright agent that includes:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. a description of the copyrighted work you believe was infringed;
  3. the link (URL) to the material in The Pantry, or enough detail for us to find it;
  4. your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address;
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

When we receive a valid notice, we remove or disable the material and let the member who added it know. We will close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe.

Disclaimers

The Pantry is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information in it is accurate.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Univirtus LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost data, profits, or food, arising from your use of The Pantry. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50.

Your responsibility to us

If a claim is brought against us because of something you added or shared in The Pantry, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, including attorney's fees.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Mississippi, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we will post the new terms here with a new effective date and let you know in the app or by email. Using The Pantry after a change means you accept the updated terms.
