Pot Roast
Ingredients
- 1 chuck roast
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Onion powder, to taste
- 1 onion, sliced
- Carrots, cut into large pieces
- Potatoes, cut into large pieces
- 1–2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Water or beef broth
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Season the chuck roast generously on all sides with salt, pepper, and onion powder.
- Place the seasoned chuck roast in a Dutch oven.
- Add the sliced onion and carrots around the roast.
- Pour in the Worcestershire sauce, then add enough water or beef broth to cover the vegetables.
- Cover the Dutch oven and place it in the oven at 325°F.
- Cook for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, then begin checking the carrots.
- Once the carrots start to become tender, add the potatoes to the Dutch oven.
- Cover and continue cooking until the potatoes are tender and the roast is cooked through and fall-apart tender.
