We're right here.
Most answers are on this page, written plainly. If yours isn't, write to us. A real person reads every message, usually the one who built the thing you're asking about.

Filling your pantry
What are the four ways to add food?
Whichever suits the moment:
- Type it. Start typing and pick from the suggestions.
- Paste a list. Tap Add a list and paste or dictate several items at once. It understands "2 milk" and "eggs x2".
- Scan a barcode. Point the camera at any packaged item. You can also type the number if the camera will not focus.
- Scan a receipt. The fastest way to fill a whole kitchen after a shop.
How do I scan a receipt?
Open Inventory and tap Scan a receipt. You get three ways in:
- Take a photo of a paper receipt.
- Upload photos or a PDF. Up to four screenshots are merged into one order, which covers a long online pickup order, and emailed PDF receipts work too.
- Paste your order text straight from the confirmation email.
It reads the items, expands the store shorthand, skips fees, tips and tax, and shows you an editable list. Nothing is added until you approve it. Your receipt image is read and then discarded. We never store it.
A barcode came back as not found.
We check two databases, Open Food Facts and the USDA. Between them they cover most packaged food, but small brands and store brands sometimes have neither. Just add the item by name instead. It works exactly the same everywhere else in the app.
Why did my item keep the name I typed?
On purpose. If you type "almond milk" you get almond milk, not milk. We link it to the general ingredient quietly in the background so recipes still match, but we never rename your food.
Cooking and recipes
What is the difference between "make it now" and "almost there"?
Make it now means every ingredient is on your shelves. Almost there means you are missing one or two, and we tell you which. Tap the missing one to send it to your grocery list.
What happens when I tap "Cooked it"?
We subtract what the recipe actually used, not just a tick in a box. Two eggs comes off as two eggs. A quarter cup of rice comes out of the bag you have open, converting between cups and pounds where we can.
When an amount cannot be worked out honestly, like "salt to taste", we leave it alone rather than guess. You will always see a plain summary before anything changes.
Can I cook a half batch or a double batch?
Yes. On any recipe use the Batch chips to pick a half, double or triple. The ingredient amounts rescale, and if you tap Cooked it we subtract the scaled amount.
Search does not show every recipe.
It does, you may just need to ask for more. Search shows the first two dozen matches with a Show more button underneath that keeps loading. Searching also looks inside ingredients, so "chicken" finds dishes with chicken in them, not only ones with chicken in the title.
Can I add my own recipes?
Yes, and you can paste a link to import one automatically. A few large recipe sites block automated readers. When that happens, copy the recipe text and paste it in instead, which always works.
How do the diet filters work?
Low carb, diabetic friendly, high protein, gluten free and low sodium come from real per serving nutrition data on the recipes that have it. Recipes without trustworthy numbers are left out of those filters rather than guessed at. You can also tag your own recipes with the same labels.
I set up an allergy. How careful is it?
Deliberately over cautious. Avoiding peanuts also covers peanut butter, peanut oil and peanut flour. We screen both the linked ingredients and the recipe text, because a small number of imported recipes have ingredient lines that never linked cleanly.
It errs towards hiding too much rather than too little. Please still read the ingredients on anything you cook. This is a helper, not a medical safeguard.
Your kitchen and your family
How do I share a kitchen?
Go to Profile and invite someone by their username. They get a notification with Join or Dismiss. Once they join you both see the same shelves, the same grocery list and the same meal plan, updating live.
Favourites and personal notes stay yours alone.
Can I be in more than one kitchen?
Yes. You might share a house kitchen and keep a second one somewhere else. Switch between them from your profile.
What is the Household shelf for?
Paper towels, dish soap, foil, anything you buy at the grocery store but do not cook with. It is tracked like everything else but left out of recipe matching, so cleaning baking soda never counts as an ingredient.
Your account and your plan
I forgot my password.
Use the reset link on the login page and we will email you a link that works for one hour. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then write to us.
How do I change or cancel my plan?
Open Profile on the website and use Manage billing. That opens your billing portal where you can switch, pause or cancel. A cancellation runs to the end of the period you already paid for.
Plans are managed on the website rather than inside the app.
How do I delete my account?
From the account deletion page. It removes your account and your kitchen data. It cannot be undone, so we ask you to confirm first.
What do you do with my data?
The short version: we do not sell it, we do not advertise to you, and receipt photos are read and thrown away rather than stored. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
Sharing recipes with everyone
What is allowed in a community recipe?
Real food, cooked the way real people cook it. We are not going to second-guess how you put up green beans, whether you use raw milk, what you foraged, or how you cure your own bacon. Those are traditions, not problems, and plenty of them are already in the recipe catalogue.
What we do remove is anything that is not food: instructions for weapons or explosives, drug manufacturing, poisoning someone, mixing chemicals to make a toxic gas, sexual content, abuse or harassment, and advertising.
Are shared recipes checked before they go live?
They go through an automatic check for the not-food list above. Most publish straight away. Occasionally the check holds one for a person to look at, which usually clears within a day.
If yours gets held and it is a perfectly good recipe, that is our check being clumsy, not a judgement on your cooking. It happens. Tell us and we will sort it out and fix the check.
How do I report a recipe or a photo?
Open it and use Report this recipe under the note at the top. Pick a reason, add anything useful, and it comes straight to us.
Reporting something does not hide it on its own, so nobody can take a recipe down out of spite. A person reads every report and decides.
Should I trust a recipe another member wrote?
Read it first, the same way you would a recipe torn out of a magazine. We have not tested it and we do not know the person who wrote it.
If you are cooking around an allergy, read the ingredients yourself. Your avoid list can only screen what the writer actually typed, so a recipe that says "PB" instead of "peanut butter" can slip past it.
Someone is bothering me with kitchen invites.
Dismiss the invitation and you can block that person from sending you any more. If it goes further than that, report it or write to us below and we will deal with the account.
When something is wrong
Something looks broken or out of place.
Please tell us, and be as specific as you can bear to be. What phone or browser, what you tapped, what you expected and what happened instead. A screenshot helps enormously. Use the form below and it comes straight to us.
A recipe photo is missing or wrong.
Some imported recipes never came with a picture. If you have cooked one, you can add your own photo from the recipe page and it goes live once we have checked it.
Can I ask for a feature?
Please do. A good number of the things in the app now started as a message from someone using it, including receipt uploads for online orders and the whole diet filter set. Pick Feedback or an idea below.
Write to us
No ticket numbers, no phone tree. It goes to a mailbox a person actually reads.
Email us directly
If you would rather use your own mail app, or you need to attach a screenshot:

- Your message lands in our support mailbox straight away.
- We read it and reply to the address you give us, usually within a day.
- If it turns out to be a bug, we fix it and write back to tell you it is done.
